Day One of the Project

Wewak Papua New Guinea is 14 hours ahead of US Eastern Standard Time.  As I post this from Pennsylvania on Tuesday evening, March 12, our Team is waking up for breakfast on Wednesday, March 13. The following pictures report the work on Tuesday at the Friends In Action PowerPac in Wewak.

Tom said, "We were making great headway on day one of the project...

Matt getting his hands into the boxes.
Robert in technical mode with Mike absorbing information.

Then the rains came at lunch time!"

This area of the tropics experiences two distinct seasons: wet (December to March) and dry (June to December). Average monthly rainfall is between 9 and 14 inches.

After the rains, the work continued inside and outside the PowerPac.

Trey, Robert, and Miquel discovering, staging, and organizing materials.  Stan assembling electrical boxes.

Matt in the far back of the PowerPac,  while Robert continues the technical set up and Don makes some necessary assessments outside.
The day was filled with sorting, staging, and assembling hardware, and running the Cat5 cable needed to get the communications system up and running.

Our stateside team of Matt and Gary will monitor this system and assist with the commissioning which will bring the system into operation and adjust as needed.

We thank God for each person attending to their diverse jobs, whether on site or supporting from the US.
"Even so the body is not made up of one part but of many...
But in fact God has placed the parts in the body, every one of them, just as He wanted them to be." 2 Cor 12
